Generally a summertime fruit, Valencias are heavy with juice and have a sweet, delicate texture. Known as the ultimate juice orange, the flavour is a perfect balance of sweet and tart. Pink grapefruit grows in the grape-like clusters from which their name derive. The hybrid fruit was first documented in 1750 by a Welshman, Rev Griffith Hughes in The Natural History of Barbados. Lemongrass is widely used as a culinary herb in Asian cuisines and also as medicinal herb in India. It has a subtle citrus flavour, which compliments food pairing.
