Pesto Rosso (Red Pesto) is an italian dark red sauce for pasta originating
in Sicily. It’s made from sun dried tomatoes and tomato pulp blended with
ligurian basil, extravirgin olive oil and grana Padano cheese. It’s uncooked
sauce preserved in glass.
Enjoy our Pesto with a whole variety of dishes including fish, chicken &
pasta. With pasta, we think 100g of pasta per quarter jar of Pesto works
best. It is traditionally eaten with linguini, but you can use spaghetti,
tagliatelle or penne! Simply add the sauce to your drained pasta and mix
and coat well before serving. Alternatively, make a pasta salad (rince the
cooked pasta in cold water after cooking to stop it cooking and cool it
down) and then add your pesto sauce and a squeeze of fresh lemon. You
could make a pesto rice salad in the same way.
